We are visiting Mr O'Connel every Wednesday for Technology. So far we have done two challenges: 'who can make the tallest poppy' and 'who can build the strongest bridge' to support Mr O'Connel's lunch.

The Water Cycle By Max, Harriet, Antony
To help us understand how the water cycle works we had to present the water cycle in the class through drama. We were not allowed to talk and had to use sound and movement to show what was happening. We only had 20 minutes to come up with a presentation. It was tricky!
"I was the sea. Isabelle was the sun making Cameron and Matthew (water vapour) get hot and evaporate to form clouds. Paige was a cloud releasing water (rain) and Anqi was evaporating changing the water into clouds." By Harriet
"Savanah and I were running along the beach and Tom was acting as the waves. Our sweat from running became water vapour. All of us then acted as the water vapour cooling down. We changed into clouds and it started to rain." By Antony
"Olivia was running and I was acting as the water vapour coming off her and rising into the clouds. Ali was the sun and he was shining on Dylan (the sea). Dylan's water vapour was rising up to Aimee (the big cloud). The cloud released her water which fell back down and then it started all over again." By Max

Irish Band By Max and Tom
I was amazed when they started to sing I couldn't believe it, they were soo good. Their voices were so loud. I learned some names of Irish instruments. One of the singers was singing about a shark trying to attack him, it was super funny. He turned the song into a picture book and gave Miss Slater a poster about it...
Sculptures By Jasmine
Last term we had to make a sculpture. You could use any material you wanted. Most sculptures had lots of hard work put into them and they turned out fantastic. Harriet did an awesome cleaning robot that she made out of boxes and a container. Matthew.B made a U.F.O with a alien inside which looked fantastic!

Shapeshifter By Olivia C
Today we saw an amazing art show called 'Shapeshifter.'
We saw sculptures of birds, eels, starfish, snakes, bees, fantails, seals and lots more. I loved the snake it was like 6-7 meters long! I also liked the bee, it was like the beehive in Wellington.
